A/C Noise Engaging Compressor

2007 Base Coupe with 47,000 miles

I have recently started to hear a knocking noise everytime the A/C is turned on and the compressor is engaged. The A/C still blows cold and operates like normal.

My question is about what is the actual failing part, the Clutch or the Compressor? If it is the clutch, can the clutch be replaced without having to remove the compressor and evacuating the refrigerant?

Advice is much appreciated

I'm sorry you are experiencing this noise. Have you had this issue diagnosed at your local Chevrolet dealership?

Replacing the Compressor solved the problem. Saved $150.00 on parts by ordering from Amazon using the AC Delco part Number 15-21132
