Default LS2 Swap For LS3

Hello All
I have a 2007 C6, LS2 6.0L/364cid and want to replace it with an LS3 6.2L. Does the wiring match up, harnesses, sensors, etc. what else do I need to know? I am especially interested in the GM Performance 480HP version with the Hot Cam.

I replaced my LS2 with an LS3 strocker with no issues. You can use the LS2 MAF and you may need to work around the MAP sensor. Everything else I think is the same.

Default LS2 Swap for LS3

Glad to hear the swap was pretty straight forward.
I have no problems with my LS2. The engine runs great. All I did to it was add Corsa exhahust with cross over center section, Diablo Sport tune, K&N air filters, NGK plugs and Delphi ignition wires. I figure I have to have atleast 425hp. The motor has more pep than stock. I am also considering the stroker. The stroker seems to be a beautiful way to go, lots of tork. I am going for the the LS3 because I think it is a better platform for anything I want to do, and I love those L92, high flow heads, for a big cam, but need to learn as much as possible about the swap, concerning the electrical and computer.

Before spending that kind of money, consider going with heads (ported 243 LS2 heads with a FAST 102 or a whole LS3 top end at a reasonable cost) and a cam. You will be 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a new motor and will most likely have more Hp. For example, I had a 230/234 114+2 cam with 612/598 lift and ported stock LS2 heads and made 485 HP at the wheels - probably 540-550 at the crank. Drove well and cost less than an engine swap, especially if you're willing to do the work yourself.

I know, I have considered it. I have 40,000 miles on my LS2. I want to take it out, wrap it up, and save it for now. What I wanted to do was stroke it, but I have deceided to go with the LS3. I am going to either stroke a new LS3 or go with the 480HP LS3, add headers and hope for 500hp or a little more, after a dyno tune.

DOING THE INSTALL THIS WEEK IM EXCITED.GOING FROM LS2 TO STROKED 421 LS3 11.8 COMPRESSION AND stage 3 btr cam.. ADDING BIGGER STALL CONVERTER WILL BRING IT ALL TO LIFE. Then do the basic tune setup with hp tuner then dyno. I also got a Ls3 air intake I had in shop with the MAF.. So will post any issues/questions we run across here..

I know this is an OLD thread, BUT....
I installed the GM crate motor (on my '08 C6M) you're talking about (LS376/480 Long Block, 495 HP) after my stock LS3 failed on the dyno.... don't ask !!!
I also have American Racing 1-7/8" headers with their high flow cats, Corsa Sport Exhaust, Callaway CAI, and a dyno tune.
This combo made 452 RWHP @ 6180 RPM and 428 LB/FT of torque @ 4680 RPM.
Nice bump in HP and torque, VERY streetable which was a priority for me, and a great upgrade. There are better camshafts for the LS3 but since I was replacing the engine I went this route and don't regret it.
If you had a good engine then I'd go with an LS3 Cam Motion cam.... several to pick from that offer different levels of performance.
You won't get 500 RWHP with this particular GM crate engine, unless you replaced the cam and did some head work..

if you're looking for a street car; why not throw a supercharger on the LS2 and be done with it? The A&A kit is 1/2 the cost of a crate LS3 and probably will result in more horsepower...
