Default 2005 electrical problem

I've done some searching but can't seem to find anything that sounds like what my car is doing. After driving my car for a while if I turn off the ignition when I park all electrical power dies. I can't even open the door. After a few minutes it will go into accessory mode and all will be fine and will start right up. It has never happened before but it happened to me 3 times today. I have had the "Service Column Lock" on for a few months now but no issues.

Any ideas?

Battery on its last legs. Get it load tested.

Just had a new battery installed. I was thinking bad alternator because dash started to flicker in slow traffic. Stereo will also turn off and on while driving but the car itself will stay on until I turn it off myself.

Make sure you got good, tight connection at the battery. Also at the starter where the + battery cable connects.

I think I may have it figured out. Does it normally take a minute for the car to "recover" when the battery is disconnected?

I noticed when I installed the new battery it would not start right away but did after a few tries. Today when I was having issues I would mess with the battery terminals and after it not starting I would walk away frustrated. When I came back later it would start no problem.

So I tightened the battery terminals correctly and washed my hands and when I came back to the car it started right up and went for a drive and could no longer replicate the issue.

I also found another thread saying that the fuse box gets hot and causes issues so it could be that it starts up after the fuse box has time to cool down? Hopefully it was just a loose battery connector.

Bud,,,,,,,,,,,,, You have a loose /corroded/ damaged connection somewhere. Check the fuses box and the connections on the starter and the ground on the block.

YES,,,,,,,,,, I would check ALL the fuses and relays and make sure that you do not have any fuse holders or relay female pins that have damaged or corroded terminals. When you remove or install any relay or fuse, there should be a significant GRIP on the male pins.

I use an old fuse (break it in half) and use it to make sure that all my fuse holders are tight on the fuse spade .
