Need some help guys...My 2007 6-speed has been acting up on me. Initially it started up just fine but then immediately (within 5 seconds) began acting weird. It went into "reduced power mode" and was running horribly, and eventually cut out. After several minutes of trying to start up again it started up just fine and ran smooth as ever, but left the check engine light on. After reading the codes (P2101 & P0606) I'm still at a loss as to the next course of action. The P0606 is an "Engine Control Module / Powertrain Control Module Processor" and the P2101 is a Throttle Actuator Control Motor, Circuit Range / Performance. Any incite would be greatly appreciated.
We had something similar happen to our 2006 while on vacation, but I don't recall the codes.
The first time, dealer replaced the gas pedal assembly (has throttle position sensor).
That worked for a few weeks, the next time our home dealer had a phone conversation with GM and replaced some (unknown) wiring.
That worked for a week, third time the local tech had a long conversation with GM and replaced more wiring. We sold the car a couple of months later but the problem had not come back for us and the new owner never complaind, so I think that fixed it. Big $$$ because of all the hours, but paid for by GMPP fortunately.
I wish I could tell you what codes we had.
Best of luck to you, it might be something different but very simple.
My 09 started this a few weeks ago. It turned out that my 02 sensors got on my headers and fried the fuse. The stealership wanted 750 plus dollars for 4 02 sensors and labor. I paid 27 cents for the fuse. Good Luck
