Default Electrical issues

Ok all. I have an interesting one here. Last week my car wouldnt start. It didnt crank but everything came on. I have had a loose battery terminal before so I checked it. Wiggled it and poof, car started fine. Started and ran great until Monday. Now it will intermittantly start. If i remove the positive cable and reset, it will start (may take a couple of times). This is a new batter from July (and actually my 3rd in the last year). Today, after a no start, did the whole cable dance and got it started. Well, afterwards I noticed that my seat wasnt moving forward or backward. It would intermittantly move up and down and tilt. The lumbar works great. To make things interesting, while driving to work, the seat just started tilting forward and moving up on its own. After it would stop, I would temporarily be able to move it back. Im thinking loose connector or cut wire underneath but other than that, I am stumped.

Pull the battery terminals off and clean them up, wires and battery.
check the terminal on the starter. itis the one from the battery or fuse box make sure the nut is tight. then give it another try HTH

LOL!! GHOST!

So,,, after having weird NO START issues with my 06 Coupe,, here are a few thing to keep in mind. Your Body Control Module has everything to do with starting the engine. It controls all the LOGIC and allows it to crank and run.

The BCM also has everything to do with seat memory.

If it were me,, The first thing that I would do would be to PROPERLY fix that battery terminal.

IT MUST BE rock solid connected! You should NOT be able to move it by hand when its properly TORQUED / tightened on to the battery. The battery terminal hasa SPECIAL BEVELED NUT that causes the battery terminal to clamp on to the terminal.. The proper torque is in INCH POUNDS (cant remember the exact value but make sure that you look it up and use that valye) Make sure that you have that all sorted out and correct FIRST! Your car does NOT like flukey battery voltages!!!

Each time you disconnect the battery, you reset the ECU, BCM memory functions. The ECU has learned engine management values that should relearn after a short period of time No issue there other than a little rough idle at first start up.

The BCM however, does not recover the memory functions sometimes and can become corrupted for the seat, steering wheel Radio, HVAC, HUD, window bump down function when door open.

Try this: RESET all of your memory functions to all of your desired settings and see if that seat issue goes away.

As for the starting issue,, If you press START and the engine does not start but entire dash goes DEAD except for the single yellow SECURITY LIGHT,,, you have a BCM issue and the BCM will most likely need to be replaced. Been there done that! When you disconnect the battery, it "sometimes" resets the BCM and will allow you to start the engine. Sooner or later, that will get yoyu stranded!!

I've seen both 71 and 89 in. lb mentioned. Don't know which is correct but I imagine anything in that range would be OK.
