My 2006 C6 has been having some odd problems for a while now. Since I'm considering selling her, my buyer wanted this looked at and fixed before he bought it. Basically what happens is in stop-n-go traffic where you just burp the gas to move a little, the idle down goes too low and sometimes stall. Now, if you actually get going to like 5mph or faster, the idle down is just fine. It is just those small burps that it doesn't seem to like. Any ideas of what might cause that?
Any mods? A cam maybe? Or a tune that changed your idle? A6 or M6?
A buddy of mine did a cam swap on his C5 and the tune sucked. It was a auto and if he was at a stop and didn't accelerate fast enough it was stall about 50% of the time. He had it retuned and it was a lot better.
I have a K&N Intake, Corsa Sport Exhaust, LG Street Series Headers w/cats, and G5X1 Cam kit. All installed and tuned at LG. It's an MN6. I had them bump up the idle once thinking it was thatm but I guess it is something else.
Seems we have similar cars with similar mods. I have the "E" version of the same cam.
Do you have any other symptoms? Rough start, lack of power? Might be bad spark plugs. Might be worth replacing if you are in your stock set. I had mine in my 2005 replaced about 4 years ago.
Yeah, the problem started roughly when the mods were done. After having Anthony at LG bump up my idle once thinking that was the cause, I left it at that. It didn't do it again for a while. However, it could have just been because I was avoiding stop-n-go traffic.
