The stock C6 paper LS3 filter flows pretty good as long as its clean. The only way to significantly improve the intake to get a track noticeable improvement is to use a front of the bumper cold air intake system like VARARAM or something similar.. To optimize a change to the intake system (using a cold air intake) , you need tuning.
You probably saw a 5-10 HP change. Could be that it was the weight change in your wallet.
Those clowns have sold a ton of their filters based on clever marketing. And buyers that don't bother to do a little research. Glad you did. Not only what Bill said, but you'd only allow a lot more dirt into your engine, and THAT is the worst part. Remember the stock filter is the same on the Z06, which is a larger, more powerful, and higher redlined engine, therefore making that filter overkill for the LS3 already. Spend your money elsewhere .
K&N claims 18 h.p. gain using their air box on 2013 vette is this possible? New vette rated at 436 h.p. feels like alot more is this possible?
Their claim is very much advertizing only, usually states "up to" or "results may vary" in the Ad. Let me run enough times on the Dyno and I'm sure I could get an 18HP difference between the highest and lowest.
They also claim "more air into the engine"; Think about it, the engine is 376 cubic inches which means 188 cubic inches of air enter the engine for every RPM, no more, no less. 188 cubic inches regardless of which filter or no filter. If they claimed less resricted flow then they'd be correct but claiming "more" air is BS.
