I have a 2005 corvette that I recently purchased last month, it has a new "upgraded" 4L65E that went out after 950 miles, lost all gears and reverse. Long story short I had it towed. the tow truck driver (pictured below) was extremely careful and didn't even scrape putting it on or off the truck, and towed it to the transmission shop that did the work. They were not open but the owner met me and let me push it inside one of the stalls so it wouldnt have to sit outside that day and Sunday night, I was extremely happy with this as the neighborhood the shop was in is a little shady. Monday afternoon they call and indicate the pump went out, broken vanes. Regardless they installed a new pump and I picked it up this afternoon and all seems well at no charge. They indicated they would not warranty the pump again as it takes "an incredible" amount of torque to damage the pump as the pump in the 4L65E is upgraded. Has anyone else had pump issues with their transmissions? I have about 605rwhp and 580lbs of torque....any chance this will last? I know this is pushing the limits but I would hope a new "upgraded" transmission would hold up for a while under normal use.
A friend has a built 4l60e in his GTO with a 402 stroker, hitting it with a 250 shot and running 9.8 ET's. A year has gone by now.
History on his GTO is cam\heads 346 with 1,000 passes in six years on the same tranny. ET's were low tens on the juice. He then built the 402 and had the tranny refreshed since it was out. The Zpac 3-4 clutch pac still had over 40% of material left.
