Default Pfadt headers

We just installed a set of Pfadt headers on a 06 c6 with auto trans. The header fabrication was flawless and a perfect fit. They slipped right in without having to move anything out the way and matched up to existing catback perfectly. We got a 37 rwhp gain from headers alone. Pretty awesome

Bottom line is that they are within the same performance increase, - +, of all the other header manufactures

Mine show up Monday! We'll see how it improves an LS3 that already makes 413rwhp on a stock tune.

Weird. I don't have a sig anymore. Callaway cold air intake and ported LS3 intake manifold. That's it for mods. My car bone stock made 397rwhp. The ported intake put me at 407rwhp. The Callaway made it 413rwhp. All dyno'd back to back within an hour and a half yesterday.

They do great on Z06's, so it stands to reason they would work great for you as well. Just buy some. All the cool kids are doing it.

Based on the info that's been made availible, all the other kits 'work great' as well.

I'd like to see an A/B test rather than postering

Yup, they all do 'work great'.

It's basically the same as do you like Coca Cola or Pepsi. Or Ford vs Chevy.

Pick a flavor and go with it. All the good major header brands are probably within a few rwhp of each other. I like the theory behind the tri-y design, so I bought some. I had Kooks on my GTO and I liked them well enough. I was talked into 1 7/8 though and I think I would have been better off with 1 3/4.

I like the idea as well and even posed the question to a manufacture at the PRI show one year and was told that due to the packaging, the vehicle fit, that there wouldn't be much advantage gained.

If buying again, I would certainly give alot of thought to the Pfadt system. Every other part I have used of theirs has been exceptional as well as their customer service after the sale.

I would still like to see an A-B test though .... just sayin'

Now, can I throw another wrench in the mix? Riddle me this ....

Since we know that the engine package is all related, when doing a header/cam package do we design the cam to take advantage of the tri-Y design? If the Tri Y design provides for a better scavenging system do we reduce the overlap or the exhaust timing or maybe just the lift? Maybe change the lobe centers or do like GM and go long on the intake lobe center and short on the exhaust?

When Dr.Gas came out with the first X pipe, as used at Daytona, the cam as designed with the X pipe in mind and tuned accordingly, unlike the use of the X pipe by most manufactures which result in zero gain over the H pipe.
