Abs
I don't know if I am describing this problem correctly but it seems that under hard braking my abs comes on way too soon? Any ideas? Thanks.

How hard is hard braking? Sounds like ABS is doing exactly what it is intended to do.

Tires are what really stops the car.
What tires are you running?
Are your tires old/hard/smooth?
Is this on the street, or at track events?
Do you have stock brakes?
What brake pads are you running?
If you have a BBK and/or an aggressive pad, maybe you have too much brake for your tires.

I believe I am correct in saying that the ABS works when one of the tires slips during braking. It releases the brake pressure on the sliding tire.
So , I assume you are hitting the brakes on slippery pavement ,and or hard tires.

Nope. Just a hard stop. Not locking up the brakes. Dry pavement. brakes act as if i'm on ice.
