I am sure that there are a bunch of people out there that have installed a Z06 tank were the battery is. I want to use the ARE Z06 replacement and the ARE pan, but I have to mount the tank in the OE location because it is the only real option.
The questions I have are:
Does the battery tray unbolt?
Do you have to cut anything?
Does the tank bolt in?

The top of the tray unbolts but there's another part underneath that has to be cut off and it's a major PITA to do.
If you are still having issues or need help, I can send you my number so we can talk through it. Most of it is still fresh in my head.

Big flick, here's what you're up against:
Battery tray gets cut off frame
You will need to install 2 nut seers in frame for oil tank
Battery moves to trunk (hole in firewall)
ECU gets moved between fiberglass frame and fender

Thanks! I found your post on it. When I saw that you had to cut out the battery tray, I said screw it.
Don't laugh, but 2006 C6's are getting cheap enough, that I may buy a high mileage one and make it a track car.
It wast tough at all. 15 min of cutting and 10 min of grinding/smoothing followed by a quick coat of paint and you're done. Biggest pain is routig battery to trunk, which still isn't that bad.
