Default How much POWER!!!!!!!!!!!

Takeing the factory camshaft out of my ls2, and going with something else. Does anyone have any real life experience as to how much power and torque I can gain from this swap at the rear wheels.

OP: Instead of taking out the cam, have you thought about adding headers instead. Another good power adder for the LS2 is the FAST 102 intake manifold - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...st-intake.html Good luck with your upgrades. Also check these guys out, they should be near you. They are also on the forum.

I agree, definitely look at headers and FAST before going deep into the engine. Also if you do a search, it's tons of info on this site about headers, fast, and cams.

What cam specs are you going with? Without that info, nobody will be able to give you numbers that mean anything...

And I agree with the others. FAST intake and headers should be first before a cam.

I agree as well, but if you are going to buy a FAST intake, I would get a pair of LS3 heads and a FAST for an LS3.

Long story short, ive already done the headers, cai, fast intake ported, heads ported, axle backs, ported throttle body and a good tune. Car makes 402hp and 400lbs torque to the rear wheels. Runs 11.92 at 122.24. Trying to make a decision if I should take the factory cam out or the factory converter. Was just wondering if u guys had done the camshaft swap and what did it really make. Yes ive read lots of tech specs but thiers nothing like guys on this forum who have done this before who will tell the truth about what gains it does or does not make. Lots of cams out there too choose from lots of dyno sheets too. but we all know not all are truthful as to what their cams really do

do the stall first... a 3600+ stall will knock more off your et than the cam

A good 3200 to 3600 stall will give you 6 to 8 tenths. You will need drag radials. With simular mods my car is running 11.12s@125 with stock heads and cam. I have a FTI converter and it is great.

Damn tee your flying, thanks for the info i will put a converter in it. Then off to the track, too see what it will do. Im proud of my little ls2 it runs really well... Most of what i see at the track is ls3s and ls7s and im running close to most of them. Just need to get better 60ft times to put my self right in the hunt. my mile per hour is good 122.24 . Just need to wake up the bottom end . Its lazy up to the 120ft mark then the power really kicks in.

Don't pay attention to the dyno numbers after the torque converter swap. Take it to the track. It may actually register less HP at the wheels than before. But don't worry!!

Rev Extreme is looking for someone to tryout thier new converters, at a discount price. Im gonna give them a try and report to the forum how its works . They just want a honest report from whom ever test thier product. So looks like i gonna give them a try. They will refund my money if product is not as good as they say it is , so i guess all i have to risk is the 600 that i will spend on labor......... How else can the new guy get his product out but through one of us on the Forum.
