When you add the GM hood blanket to the 2007 - it has the cut out for the under hood light. When you buy the light from GM - it come with a pigtail but it doesn't fit into the factory wireing harness!!

Does anyone know if there is a connector for the hood light accessory on the 2007 since they didn't come with an under hood light.

Look down on the passenger side of the radiator, the plug is there and has a cover on it that snaps off.

 

Right - I have done that and the pigtail to the light doesn't fit in the harness. Is there and adapter for this?

 

I think that the cover is still on it...did you snap it off?

 

I'll check again; but, I'm 95% sure that it's off!

 

I checked again and there are no caps on either side!

 

That's a head scratcher...every one I have heard of here on the forum has just plugged into the existing harness.

 

i did some checking and GM actually sells 1 and only 1 lamp kit. you can order individule parts of it (wiring,rivet,bulb,socket).

so................. bottom line is that the harness is generic for all (at a minimum) 2007-201x. i tried coupe,convertible and again same part numbers. there has to be something about the cars wiring harness. i'll keep checking, but i also am at a loss to explain.

not that this should make a difference in having a proper socket for your hood lamp wiring kit, but as i was looking over wiring harness, what to my surprise.... there are (wait for it... drum roll...) 18 different body wiring harness. granted auto,manual and coupe,convertible and such make up most of them. just laughed when i saw 18

 

can you give me the part number(s) of the hood lamp you obtained? i can look that up

also, would it be possible for you to take a sorta close up snap of the body wiring harness connector that doesnt fit your lamp connector (and post it)? maybe also another pic of the lamp kit wiring connector?
