Default Drag Racing Questions

I will be picking up a Vette within the next few weeks and plan to do a fair bit of bracket Racing. It a stock 436hp but will soon be modding. I havent decided how much hp to add. I might just go with a header / tune set up or I might just supercharge it. I wanna keep the car about 500-550hp or so at the wheel. What are the BEST street tires for dragracing, I dont want to run cheater slicks. At what RWHP will I have to add slicks . Are there vendors on here that have alot of experience at the drag trackÉ Thanks

To be successful at bracket racing, you need to be consistant. Buy a loaded LS2 stock A6 and add 500 lbs of ballast in the hatch. That'll put you in the mid to high 13's. You can always shift to Sport mode and start in 2nd gear to run real consistant 14's.

If you start modding, you'll need DR's almost immediately.

There's no such thing as a good street tire you can properly drag race with, especially with a car making over 500rwhp. Sure, you might be able to make some fast passes but you'll never be able to run consistently that way.
