We can change the sound at idle by changing the LSA of the cam if you do not want something that sounds that radical. It will idle down to 800-850 with no issues.
Again, it is the biggest you can run on a stock stall converter, and yes it will work just fine.
ok since I keep hearing from everyone to change the stall? which do yall recommend? and what size? Looks like I will need some type of external tranny cooler since I live in Houston and with a new stall would be worried about the high heat.
Also, with everyones advise I just ordered the trunion upgrade kit.
Now that I am choosing to go with a stall converter, I guess I have to start all over with the search for a cam since I can go bigger (still want dependability and drivability)

If you are for sure going to a bigger stall converter, then yes that will change what you can do with the camshaft.
Pick the torque converter then based on how you drive the car.
Also, depending on how high of a stall you go with, you will also need to think about a larger cap. cooler for the trans.
Would Spin's 230/234 cam recommended for a car that doesn't see daily driving and would see the track a few times a year? Or are there stronger cams for this task that sacrifice some drivability while not significantly lowering longevity? Looking the g6x3 comes up a lot and there is 234/242 112+4 that has positive results. I don't want to hijack the thread but given I have an LS2 I thought someone could weigh in.
428rwhp with stock heads/intake manifold + UD pulley/headers
456rwhp with a FAST 102--ported by spin
495rwhp with trick flow 225's....set compression at 11.7:1
505rwhp with meth injection added
Are these figures from a c6 w/manual trans? something Im looking to do. Just now getting my LG street pros on the car in my home garage.
One last question. I have narrowed my search down to Spins specs or an eps 234/242 112+4 (Patrick G cam). Can someone more knowledgeable in cams explain how the eps cam would differ in the mid-range and up top? How would drivability suffer with the large split?
large split = poor drivability. That's about all you need to know.
It may extend the powerband out a couple hundred more rpm but I think you'll be losing more in the way of drivability then you will gain in top end power.
