Default Lower radiator core support, replacement of

I see articles showing the lower C6 radiator support removed, but no specifics on the actual procedure. Me: 2006 conv, Z51, 6mn.
1. Do I need to drain the radiator?
2. Do I first need to remove the radiator?

or....is the radiator sufficiently supported while the lower support is removed?

No need to remove the radiator. But it would be advisable to support it (rather than letting it hang from the hoses/lines) prior dropping the LRS.

Thanks,
I did not realize all these small parts need to be removed to get this part on/off. I looks so simple from under the car.
Any info on how to release the plastic pins....like the ones that hold the inner fender to the outer portion? I have removed the inner pin before but do not want to screw them up if there is an easy way to get the male part out of the female part...
Again...thanks

No tricks I know of. Just pry as gently as possible. You'll probably be able to reuse some but can almost bank on at least a few needing replacement. Might want to pick up several new ones before starting the job, just in case. Good luck.

Consider the idea of getting the support welded rather than replacing it...you'll likely end up with a better part at a lower cost. Aluminum welding is not a big deal anymore.
