Default C6 tires

Michelinman.com lists both the Sport PS2 and the Super Sport as being available in RFT for C6 with the Z51.
Tirerack only lists the PS2. Would probably have dealer order and install.

Anyone have the SuperSports in RFT on their C6? Any thoughts on which is a better tire for overall driving and occasional rain?

Bot hare obviously a far superior choice compared to stock GY

From what I have heard, the SuperSport is not yet out in runflat, although it will be the oem tire for the C7, so at that time it will be an option for us also. The base C7 sizes are the same as base C6.

the super sports are a N RF, and they come one size up 255 fronts and 295 rears...i am gonna try them out in summer or fall after i wear out my kumho's exta's in the stock sizes..they have been pretty good tires..especially when warm..

good luck on your choice, i've been running non RF's on my vettes for the past 10 yrs w/out any real problems , but i live in CA and the cars are not DD's..

I ordering a set of 305/30-19 and 265/35-18 PSS's for mine. Hopefully I can get halfway decent traction in 2nd and above since I'm adding a supercharger this week. I haven't had runflats on my car since it was one week old in October of 2011.

Super Sports are supposed to be cheaper, last longer, better traction in wet and dry (according to Michelin). I have PS2's on the car now and will get Super Sports when it is time to replace the PS2's. I do not think that the Super Sports are available in the stock C6 sizes yet.

They aren't, but they are available in 255/40-18 and 295/35-19. So you maintain the same front to rear diameter ratio and get 10mm wider of a tire. They work fine on stock size wheels. Since I have 9" and 10.5" wheels, I'm going for the 265/305 combo.

Actually, Michelin is now showing both front and rear in the stock Base C6 sizes, 245/40-18 and 285/35-19. Michelin part numbers are 03264 front and 29422 rear. These are not runflats.

That is great. I have PS2 runflats on the car now, but ran the previous 7 years without runflats (only one slow leak from a nail). They should be on the Tirerack and Discount Tire websites soon.

Sometimes new tires take a long time to actually show up...

I just got some 305/30-19 and 265/35-18 for $1534 installed with replacement certificates from Discount. They price matched a local tire store for $247 for the front and $350 for the rear.

Well, I am too.

My PS2 runflats will die sometime this summer, and it would sure be nice to have SS runflats available.

Someone posted that tires with the same name and appearance may be different between the OEM version and the "aftermarket" version. He said there will be different catalog numbers for what seem to be identical tires, because the car company may demand certain differences. I recall that even the Z51 Supercar tires on our 2009 had to meet a GM rolling resistance (MPG) spec, and I'm sure GM doesn't want a repeat of the Gran Sport tire wear problems. So the Super Sport runflats might not be quite a great as we hope.

But I'm willing to try a set anyway!
