A&A supercharged dewitts radiator. Out and about last night car hit 260 when I got home. I immediately turned car off. No coolant in oil. Topped off with water and wetter fans are running. Bled the sytem. Top hose won't get hot. Jumps to 220 really fast. Thermostat or waterpump? Either got to take the supercharger off. FML
If top hose is not getting hot, sounds like the thermostat, it's not opening and allowing the coolant to circulate, probably stuck in the closed position.....good luck!
Do what you gota do and start with the thermostat.
When you get it out, dunk it in HOT BOILING water and see if it is the smoking gun!
Even if it isnt, I would replace it. Do you have the stock stat or a lower temp stat?

Yep...and if your water pump is well past middle age (whatever the hell that is), you might consider changing it also. If the s'charger is easy off and on, maybe not. If it's a real PITA, rebuilt pumps are around a hundred bucks.
air pocket? Not sure if the new radiator is like the stock one being completely enclosed. When I changed my coolant I had an air pocket and it did what you are saying. massaged the hoses and all the things your suppose to do and that worked.
These cars are tough to get the air pockets out of the cooling system. I don't know the history here, but I would try filling/refilling the radiator 2-3 times before I would take it apart and blame the water pump or thermostat.
