Default Carbotech Performance Brakes

It’s that time of year to get your corvettes out and start driving, but more importunately you need to be able to stop if you’re on the fence about new brake pads maybe we can help you out. Carbotech Performance Brakes, the world leader in Ceramic friction materials. It was over eight years ago that Carbotech started building brake pads out of Ceramic, Kevlar, and Carbon for street, autocross and racing applications. Carbotech is the only brake pad manufacturer in the world with a complete line of Ceramic compounds for street, autocross, and track use. Carbotech-Ceramic compounds are known for their unsurpassed release & modulation, while maintaining very consistent torque control characteristics. Carbotech brake pads are extremely rotor friendly and contain 100% non-corrosive brake dust, that’s something that has been unmatched by any other brake pad in the industry that means our pads will not harm your wheels or paint on your vehicle. Please contact me with questions or to place an order.

OK, I am leaning toward Carbotech but would really like some perspectives from folks in the forum that have used them. Here is what my priorities are:

- No Noise. I have a dust problem with my new 2013 GS but will deal with the dust issue if I replace my original pads and hear squeaks, etc.
- Good bite. Has to perform. I am not racing, not on tracks, etc. Everyday typical street use for a daily driver.
- Dust reduction. The dust on my GS is horrible and was the primary reason for me looking but if the first 2 items are scarified, I will keep my stock pads.

Thanks.

What would you recommend to someone whose first priority for a street pad was performance? I want aggressive initial bite....noise and dust are very much back seat compared to performance for me.

The brakes on my 392 SRT8 Charger are super agressive on initial bite and feel solid all the way through. The brakes on my corvette suck, lol (currently have GM ceramics).

The AX6™ is specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range of 50°F to 1100°F + (10°C to 593°C+). The advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial bite, high coefficient of friction at lower temperatures along with very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. AX6™ offers high fade resistance, rotor friendliness at all temperatures and excellent cold stopping power. As a result, AX6™ is an excellent choice for Autocross and has gained tremendous popularity with SCCA Prosolo/Solo2 competitors for its outstanding all around performance. Many drivers use the AX6™ for street driving as well, even though Carbotech™ doesn't recommend street driving with AX6™ due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.

Price f $172 R $148 Less 5% give me a call at 216-780-8825 to place an order.

Default Carbotech's on my 2013 Grand Sport

I just installed these today. Wow!

I think I feel a little bit better bite but can't be sure yet. What I will say is that after a test drive of about 50 mile, there is virtually no dust on my wheels. Prior to the installation of these, I would go 50 miles with my OE pads and the wheels would be terrible! There is also no squeal or noise at all which I was frankly, a little worried about.

So far so good and I am a happy Vette owner with these new pads. Will keep you posted if anything changes.....

Only Carbotech uses a proprietary Ceramic and Metallic brake construction, not the carbon and iron used in conventional brake systems. Since carbon and iron combine to form carbide, which is used in cutting tools, you can imagine what those brakes are doing to your rotors.

Carbotech Performance Brakes utilize true race compounds that are "rotor friendly," eliminating the grabbing and locking up that keep so many drivers and race cars from performing at their peak. You want to go deep to gain those precious fractions of a second before you need to brake, and only Carbotech brakes let you do just that. In every turn, all race long.

If it's that time of year for us to get our Corvettes out for the season, as you suggest...seems like it might be time for a Carbotech group buy.....
