On my 2009 Z06, sometimes my left side D1s bulb will not turn on. I will have to cycle the switch quite a few times before it will fire. Then there are times I can’t get it to come on at all by cycling the switch. I have to physically go behind the blub and tap on it and then it will fire. Has anyone encountered this problem or know the fix? The passenger side always works 100%.
Had this problem when I installed 6000k's. Once I swapped the stock bulbs back in, works like it should. Might be bad pin connections in the bulb.
I’m happy you brought this up. I only noticed this problem ever since I installed brand new DDM D1s 5000k bulbs. Hummm... I’ll try my OEM bulbs back out and see if the problem goes away. I do like how the 5000k bulbs look over the OEM 4300k bulbs though..
Ya, I loved the look of the 6000k's. First, the driver side did not come on at times. Then it seemed to "fix" itself and work flawless. It was at that time the passenger side went completely out. Soon as I fired the stockers back in, no problems since. I may give it one more try as maybe I somehow had two defect bulbs.
I just might try these if they are true to the color of 5000k.
As of this past Thursday to Saturday I put back in my OEM factory D1s (4300K) bulbs and they worked flawless every time no problems! On Sunday I put back in the (ddm tuning D1's 5000K bulbs) and sure enough the problem came right back. So I’m sure it’s a problem with the bulb not my ballast.
I really like the look of the 5000k vs 4300k. I do hope the Sylvania’s will do the trick. If anyone has used them please let me know thank you.
I just placed the order on the Sylvania D1s 5000k HIDs. When they come in ill install them and see how it goes, I’ll take some before and after pictures for you guys.
No name Chinese HIDs can be problematic. Good thing they're cheap.
The Sylvania Silverstars you bought, same thing as Osram Cool Blue Intense in Europe, are the BEST HID bulbs available. That's why they cost close to $200 a pair. You get what you pay for!
