Default good enough for the General - good enough for me

Mobil 1 & AC Delco filter at wally world $35 - get an extra quart -- some engines use oil. keep it in the garage. I also keep an extra filter for every car just in case they are out of stock the next time.

I jumped ship to Pennzoil Ultra... better wear ratings...

Just my 2 cents.

I NEVER put in the extra 1/2 qt... and I race the car every weekend (Drag NOT TRACK) so it really don't need the extra 1/2 qt for an 11 sec run..just my opinion but if you never run it at the limit or track (road race) it it will be fine with 5 qts...

I bet you wont find 1 person here who broke or ruined an engine because it was down 1/2 qt...

Thats just my personal opinion, but hey... its your car & $$ so if you feel better filling it then DO IT!

If you keep using that junk, your engine will be worn out in only 300,000 miles!

Seriously, any 5W-30 that meets the Dexos1 spec will work well, and Mobil1 is better than many; with a long and good service record in these engines.
