Default What did I blow?

Running the Z hard today on a hard accell it started running rough and when I stopped it was smoking out the exhaust.
Got home and listened to the valvetrain for noise and it sounded normal, the engine was not overheating, coolant temp never was above 200.
Then I noticed oil leaking out of my cold air intake leaving a puddle on the ground.
after letting it sit 20 or 30 minutes I started it and it blew out the dipstick and blew oil everywhere including the ceiling of my garage! also leaked into the air filter again and left a puddle under the car.
Head gasket?
Intake manifold?

WOW
Never heard of that one. I hope it's just a small problem.

Sounds like you have a ton of crankcase pressure. That would make oil blow out of everything. If you have a temp sensor tool, I bet one cylinder will be cold and has internal damage. How is the oil pressure?

Just a guess, but I bet that you will also have damage to your checking account

I agree that you have a serious blow by issue. Maybe a busted piston?
I don't have enough experience with hyper eutectic pistons to know what issues can go with them. I doubt you lifted a ring land. Maybe you cracked a ring(or several).. To me that sounds most likely.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm no engine expert, but since the car still runs, seems like piston rings?

Lost a compression ring on at least one cylinder. Probably will need a replacement block.

If you have damage, you may get away with re-sleeving the block where needed

It didn't sound like it lost a cylinder, more like it was missing from all the oil it was sucking in. When I first opened the hood to listen to the engine for valve noise it sounded normal at idle, no missing and no noise from anywhere.
I am going to do a compression test this morning and go from there.

Question?? Was the oil recently changed? Dry sump system? Could it be way overfilled?

If not my guess would be a dropped exhaust valve and broken piston.

With a dropped valve, I doubt it would sound normal at idle....

Default Update

All cylinders are 150 to 170 (I am at 5500 ft above sea level so if that sounds low it should be) except the last cylinder on the drivers side, it had coolant on the plug and 25lbs compression, I'm going to pull the valve cover to look but I think the head(s) are going to have to come off to determine what happened.
Hopefully it is a head gasket problem or Cylinder head!

Is it just good practice to run a valve cover breather on any car/modded car??

I wish!, no the oil has about 1500 miles on it, just checked it last weekend.

Head Gasket isn't going to explain oil puddling out of your intake. I'd guess piston damage. Keep us informed when you get the head off.
