The passenger side fog light on my "new" 05 C6 is lose behind the bumper... can anyone tell me how it is originally affixed to the bumper with the two tabs on top, before I start pulling the other side to find out?
Thanks!

There are three 7 mm bolts that hold the bottom of the fog. They hold the fog lamp assy in place after after you insert the two clear plastic horns into the bumper locator.

Now I see what's missing and why it's floating around!... the "clear horns" are broken...
I was wondering what you meant by that so I went to look at the new light I have, and located those "horns" (or nipples given the size) that I had missed on your pic...
Now next question: Can the assembly be replaced using the technique showed on this clip, or will I have to take wheel and the whole plastic housing out?
Doesn't hurt to try the method in the video. If you can't get it to work then you are still part way down the road to using the more involved way. BTW, if you look at the bottom of the fender lining you will see a combination of push pins and 7 mm bolts that should give you more arm and hand room then what he showed for simply replacing the light bulb.

Looks like it's going to require the "more involved" method, no way I 'll be able to work on the bottom 3 bolts with just the shroud cracked open... all it gave me is a nice view on the broken clear nipples, so it will have to wait for tomorrow, I'll lift it and take the wheel off.
What kind of connector is on this light? Squeeze and pull kind?, I could hardly see it....

Ok, so here's the happy conclusion:
As I suspected earlier, in order to reach the bottom 3 screws of the fog light assy, the whole plastic housing needs to come off:
Here are the 3 screws in question:
Here's the beast lifted up with the great deal of a Jack (Harbor Freight deal discussed on an other thread), you can see the fog light hanging on the bottom screws only, as a result of broken top nipples supposed to lodge in the bumper holes:
Now you can't:
Thanks again to 07MontRedcp for the heads up!
Now off to a Chinese restaurant for Mom's day!

Great job. Now you are a "master" forum member. BJK
Yay!!!!!! I'm a "master"!!!!
Just glad every time I can escape the $110 hourly rate of the Corvette shop, or Chevy dealer...
Got the new light on an Ebay store for $65, so that's the cost of the whole operation here. What I saved this morning will cover the Mother's day restaurant outing and then some!
By any chance for those three screws do you know the part number for them?

This thread is 12 years old. I doubt you can buy these screws anymore. They were just coarse threaded screws. A lot of the times, the plastic portion they threaded into got easily stripped as it was metal screws going into a plastic bumper.
