Well if its any help, I installed a complete 3" on mine with Long tube 1-7/8" headers.
I would say its probably as simple as bolt it on.
Why upgrade? aftermarket or OEM.. I dont see the point in OEM swap unless you have damage..
More info might be helpful with you question..
Upgrading to an aftermarket set up. I have Longtubes but the non npp stock exhaust. I am looking for better sound and if I can squeeze a few more ponies out that would be nice too. I saw a good price on a used set up, but it was for 09+ models.
I have the LG Super Pro headers with 3 inch x pipe and the ends were fabricated to mate with my current stock non npp set up. So the adjustments needed for the 09+ axle backs are minor and can be done pretty easy by an exhaust shop?
To make an 09+ exhaust system fit an 08 base coupe?
I recently did this swap on my 2008. I had 2009+ borla stinger axel backs. I used 1 3/4 kooks lt headers. The X pipe I used was for a 2009+ x pipe and it bolted right up with no messing around.
on the xpipe though i got a 3 inch that drops down to 2.5 to fit the 2.5 on the stinger exhaust
