Another TPMS Question..
My mechanic tried communicating all of the sensors and was having trouble with the passenger front. I recently purchased an GM sensor and swapped it in. He again tried communicating with the sensors. He was successful in that the tool he was using read the sensor, but could not get the sensors to talk back to the TPMS computer.
I do have a third party warranty, but would like to avoid going to the dealer if this is something easily fixed.
Any idea's on what my issue may be? The dashboard light is annoying and would love to put the car into comp mode one of these days. My mechanic suggested I go to a tire shop and see if they can troubleshoot. If that doesn't work, and I have no answers here, I guess it's off to chevy.
Thanks.

Do you recall the color of the sensor? The 2005-2009 Vettes use a gray colored sensor, GM part# 25758220:

If you got some sensor with a different color and part# it won't work in your 2007. That would explain why the mechanic couldn't program it into your TPMS.
Perhaps the previous owner had some fancy wheels on the car that he took off before the sale, and he just didn't program in the new set of sensors. However, they do have to be the proper sensors for the car.
Did your mechanic do the relearn (programming) procedure correctly?

The car has to be put into the "learn mode" before you can program a set of sensors into the TPMS computer memory. Also, the learn mode will time out if the first sensor (Left Front) is not triggered within one minute.
Watch the video below to see the procedure.

The chrome valve stem caps I had on the car was causing confusion between the sensors and TPMS. I couldn't believe it. We took the caps off, replaced with plastic, and all is well.
Thanks for the help.

If you want to get rid of the plastic caps, the sensors come from the factory with aluminum ones that look kinda like chrome. You can order them from one of the GM parts discounters, about $5/each. Some tire shops seem to stock them, too.
Enjoy your car!
