Default Lower Control Arm Bolt Replacement

I have to replace one of the lower control arm bolts, the ones with the eccentric washer.
My question is, can this be done on jack stands, or do I need the remove the leaf spring because of tension ??

I have not fully removed one of those bolts but you could relieve the spring tension by placing your jack under the spring after the car is on jackstands. Just lift the spring a little bit until it is no longer against the arm.

Good idea, I was wondering how much tension there was, if I could get the new bolt in once the old was out.

Placing a jack under the spring sounds like a good idea, I wonder why I haven't thought about it

You may find a gap between the spring and control arm once you get the car in the air with no weight on the suspension.

My plan of attack is to put the car on jack stands, no weight on suspension, and try and wiggle the bolt to feel if there is movement, aka no tension.

There probably will be some tension but it is easy to jack the spring up a little. Just use a block of wood between the jack and spring.
