My Z06 currently has 40K miles on it. Never raced or tracked. Now I'm looking to swap my GM oil for Amsoil. Question I wanted to ask is, do I or should I change the tranny filter? Or just drain and refill?

Under no circumstances make the mistake of using DEXRON-6 ATF as that is to be used for A6 autos only. Use an ATF in the manual tranny that is equivalent to the old DEXRON-3.
been there too bro...i've been working on cars for 20 years, then i buy my first vette and i cant even find the tranny fill plug,,, i even called the differential the tranny,,,,,felt so dumb,,,
good ppl here to help out...sometimes sarcastic s*bs but they mean well...
Thanks for the mention Bill and Johnny - sorry for the slow addition to the thread. Was at Watkins Glen without internet all last week and been playing catchup with work and life all this week.
Concur with the above - no filter in manual, just drain and fill, and use a fluid meeting now superseded Dexron III specification (do not use Dexron VI).
More than happy to get AMSOIL products for forum members at dealer wholesale pricing, about 25% below retail, via the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program. Drop me a PM if interested.
