New to the Corvettes and would like to get some more power from my z06. What are the best header/cam combos for me? I want to make some big power, and not super worried about drive-ability
OP: Welcome to the Corvette Forum, when you get a chance please add your city and state so more members may recommend a good shop as well as mods. Good luck with your upgrades.
I did a custom grind cam for the street ( 227/243 115lsa) and it sounds terrific. Only had the car back a week and have gotten Aton of compliments on sound.
Idle clip - sounds much deeper and louder in person too.
A 'Rumpity Rumpity' cam sound and real performance are two different things.
You know, without the proper heads, compression, displacement, etc, you can over-cam an engine just like you can over-carb an engine.
The 'meanest' sounding cam you can buy will not get you the performance that a cam optimally designed for your engine will give you.
up to you ....
Agreed, you want to make sure that all of your components work together...that is why we don't offer a 2" header to the public...most people will gain much less using a 2" than they would using a 1 3/4 header
If emissions aren't a factor and you are looking for a max effort gain, then I'd run ARH 2" headers and a custom grind cam based on your desired rpm you want to make power.
