What does a tune do that would cause you to loose your warranty? What are the other risks to doing a tune besides loosing the warranty? I thought a professional tune was a good thing but I am a new to this.
A tune will change the calibrations in the ECM/PCM which ever. Controling air fuel mixture and timing among other things.
Why would you expect GM to warranty the engine after these changes.

Basically it just narrows down the parameters optimizing for increased performance.
Usually runs around $500 and a dyno will be needed as well as some time spent on the street with the lap top.
