Default Spain's cam vs Torquer 2 for ls2

Hi guys,
Am going crazy between these cams, I have chosen these cams due to that they are available, tame for DD and proven powerful cams
Spins cam 230/234 114
TQ 2 cam 232/234 114
Car is 2005, A4, full bolt on's and 3200 stall convertor

Need your opinion and input
Thanks

Is the car a 2005 (A6) or (A4) they did not offer an A6 in 2005..

I have a 2005 A4) with a 2800 FTI converter, and with only headers & Tune it's run a 11.59 BEST in Ideal weather..

I have it in the shop now for a Stroker (403 ci) and a cam (Cartek 3X) I expect to run low 11's

Seeing as you have a 3200 converter you may be able to go for a more radical cam and still be OK...

With my 2800 converter I don't want to go CRAZY with a cam that will be rough at a stop light, or shake my tooth fillings loose when I'm stopped...

I don't know the lift or duration of the cams you mention in your post.. but remember you drive it most in "normal" driving.. so don't give that up for a little improvement in acceleration...

Thank you, I don't think any of the mentioned cams will shake, idle will be choppy but both will drive awesomely and both are proven cams

It's just that am confused between the 2, lobe designers.. Cam guro's!!

You're really splitting hairs honestly between the two as there might be 5hp difference. Spin's uses later lobe design and has better lift as well as ramp rates though you didn't specify which lobes as his went through a couple variations. What's the exact rest of your combo ie intake/headers and goals?

Trick flow 225 heads, fast 102mm intake, AR-headers & off road X-pipe.
You are right about spin's cam, the dude is using newer lobes and has a bit better lift but the TSP cam has two degrees more in duration and one more degree of overlap.
No doubt both will drive the same
But which one is gonna make more power.
The extra 5RWHP will make the difference to me ;-)

If you're in search of every last bit of power, then why are you considering only those two cams and not a custom grind?

What is the difference between them and other custom cams?
They will both serve my needs, I don't think any other custom cam will drive like these cams and make more power over these cams that I have listed.

The benefit of a custom ground cam is that it can be specific to your goals, mods, engine, preffered torque curve, ect

What makes you say that, why do you think these are the best for your application? I'm having a hard time understanding how you narrowed it down to these two when you're worried about 5hp.

Lol, I have norrowed my cam selection to these cams due to the fallowing
1- they are both proven cams (power wise)
2- both cams are tame and drive awesomely
3- both are available with me

If you can get me a cam that drives like these 2 cams and make the power over these 2 cams.. I will really appreciate it.

Btw, I have used a lot of cams (on shelf and customs) during the years in my cars and friend cars.

I hear ya, is your goal is to make a dyno number or get down the track fastest and what is your max rpm?

Mid range and top end is what I want. Should be tame as the cam shouldn't accede 5 degrees of overlap
Car will be used for highway racing.

Bottom line is.. Am seeking a cam that is very tame but very powerful
I have no problem hitting 6900rpm as long as I'll be making the power

Not sure where you came up with the limit of 5* overlap, very tame and very powerful is not being realistic...you're asking for the best of both ends of the spectrum and a cam is a compromise as there are always trade offs, personally I'd put in a 230/236 113 as it'll have slightly better DCR and low end from earlier IVC, better midrange from the tighter lsa and better efficiency up top with more overlap and bigger split to keep power from falling off up top after peak.
