Default 408ci stroker + Procomp heads

Hi guys,

I'm planing of installing a 408ci stroker in my LS2 block and a set of Procomp CNC bare heads.

* Lunati Voodoo 4.00“ Stroker 4340 steel crankshaft
* Lunati Voodoo 6.125“ H-Beam connecting rods
* Mahle PowerPak Flat Top Pistons
* Mahle 1.5mm, 1.5mm, 3.0mm File Fit Piston Rings
* Clevite H-Series Main Bearings
* Clevite H-Series Rod Bearings
11.5:1 on a 64cc head.

The procomp heads are these ones:
Finished Part No: PC3017-64
Valve Angle: 15deg
Valve Springs: 2.02' / 1.55'
Intake Volume: 225cc
Chamber Volume: 64cc
Comp. Valvejob: No
Port Finish: CNC
Chamber Finish: CNC
Casting Material: Alum.

I allready have Comp XER273HR cam 224/230 581/588 114lsa, titanium retainers, double valve springs, and I want to transfer them on the Procomp heads.

Maybe someone can help me out... the OP says he is installing 4" stroker.. I'm also getting a 4" stroker and STOCK bore.. and was told my car would be 403 ci In fact I think I'm getting the same rods, and pistons...(same brand) maybe his are bigger if he has larger pistons ??

How does the OP get 408 ci. ??? I was told my motor would be 403 ci.

He may be boring the block a bit. An LS2 with a 4.00 stroke and 6.125 rods is actually a 402 with a stock bore.

Some say 403 and some 402. depends if they count the stock bore, or 4.005 with honing I guess.

You can calculate here... http://www.wallaceracing.com/cid.php

That cam is too small for a 408 and the DCR would be high that much static compression. I'd run a bigger cam with more lift to better take advantage of the ported heads. Feel free to give me a call if you'd like to discuss details.

Agreed 408 would be .030" over bore or 4.03"

the pistons in the kit are for 4.03" bore, and I chose this because I need to bore my block anyway....

Doug Thorley Tri-Y LT and Procomp / Typhoon 96mm Intake with stock TB.
I want a street setup with low end torque. I can go with 95 fuel all the time, no problem.

You are better off with a stock intake than that thing. Do they even still sell that. Haven't seen one in ages.

Those are 1.875" primaries? I'd go with a FAST 102 personally over that intake unless it's been ported. What's your planned max rpm? With that octane you could run that little cam and it would be a torque monster, just the power will fall off up top.

1 7/8" primaries and 3" Collector .... maybe I'll go with FAST if the funds are there in the end....or I can have the Thyphoon ported, no problem.
Rev limit should be whatever is safe (I'm in the dark here), as I said I want a street setup with decent iddle / move around / parking / etc.
I don't neccesarly want to keep this cam, if I can get both low torque and decent power gains up top, then why not

The FAST is a great intake for the LS2 - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...st-intake.html

Yes you are right, but if you do go with the FAST, I would recommend that you port it before your install. Good Luck with your mods. Also are you going to install an after market balancer?

Well, if you do, please take a look at these two items: http://store.katechengines.com/bille...sioner-p2.aspx & http://store.katechengines.com/ati-s...ts-v-p230.aspx They are not cheap, but they are the "BEST" IMO.

I hear ya, it's just that cam works well in a 5.7L...you will be leaving power on the table up top over say a 236/242 .615/.612, ~25 and it will peter out above 6000rpm with that small cam is why I asked. If the motor is built well no reason not to spin it to 7k imo
