Any solutions for the dim low beams yet? I’ve replaced bulbs, confirmed height adjustment, cleaned lenses, etc. and still no change. My low beams are so dim if someone stops behind me at a stop sign their lights cast my shadow in front of me.

I have that same problem of people flashing me just with my low beams. They work great

I finally got beside another C6 at a Cruise-In and we compared low beams after dark. Apparently my low beam projection lenses are almost completely clouded over. Mine were not even 1/2 as bright as his.

Any ideas where I can get replacement projection lenses? I've read all the posts about removing, disassembling, and re-assembling them so if I can find replacements I guess that's the next order of business.

How I wish mine were bright enough to have someone flash their lights at me......

I tried that, all I get is the clear exterior cover, not the interior projector lens.

I have not yet taken my lights apart, but looking closer it looks like the coating on the reflector has possibly burned off. It needs to come apart to check for sure, but this is my daily driver right now. Checking on re-coating them is a week long process. I haven't been able to find a company that sells a replacement reflector buckets. I will post more info when I get it.

I have bought another set of headlights and will be taking them apart to see what the internal parts look like. I'm hoping the shiny coating on the low beam reflector's are burned off. That would cause the reflected light to be dim. I will keep everyone posted as soon as I know something.

Take it to GM they have a recall for a lowbeam headlight wire in the underhood fuse box, your not making a good connection, I would bet this is your problem.

My 2007 convert slowly lost output from low beams over the years at 105 K miles it was like hanging flashlights lighting my way. I tried everything then removed my headinght housing baked it in the oven opened it up and I solved my problem. The refectory on the low beam was worn off no more silver coating. I found a replacement online nice polished dish cleaned the lens and my headlight is like new as far as brightness. Good luck.

Where did you find a replacement? It's like looking for hens teeth to find them, and I can't seem to find them.

I am having the same problem with my 05. I had a wreck and the driver's side headlamp assembly was replaced new at the body shop, but the passenger side assembly was undamaged. So, I replaced the outer lens on the old headlamp assembly and everything looks great except that the low beam is much dimmer than it should be -- the high beam and turn signal match perfectly. I replaced the low beam bulb and ballast but that didn't help. Can you please tell me where you got the "polished dish" on-line? I've been searching for days and cannot seem to find what you are talking about anywhere. Thanks.

I managed to find the reflector buckets from RLSebring. He's on the forum and has new lenses for sale. I messaged him and he told me he had the buckets for sale at 50$ each. Give him a shout!

I finally got around to fixing my headlights. This is what I suspected. Just like a lot of other cars are doing.

No shiny coating except on the outer edge.

No reflective coating at all.

Curious to know what Brand projectors. I know they are a D1S bulb. Wondering if they are Valeo.

OK, I guess that I should have searched the forums sooner. I am certain that I have the same problem. I have a 2008 Z06 with only 51K miles, but I almost always drive with the lights on, as I live and work in Stuart and Port St. Lucie Stuart Florida, where it seems that 50% of the drivers are blind retirees. I have owned the car since April 2010 with 8000 miles on the car.

So in 2013 I upgraded the HID low beams to Sylvania 6000K silverstars and it was an improvement, but not great. At the same time, I installed 8400 lumen per pair SNGL LED fogs (H10s) and 8400 lumen SNGL LED high beams (H9s) , and those REALLY worked. At the time, the fogs still were brighter than the HID low beams though. The Hi Beams were amazing.

So in August I hit a huge racoon at midnight after leaving work on wet (but not rainy conditions). Cars were approaching me so the brights were off. I frankly could not see him. And I recently noticed that the high beams seemed lower too. I did not think it was my eyes as the 10,400 lumen per pair low and high beams on my Silverado (20,800 lumens with all 4 on) are still like a 747 coming in for a landing.

So last weekend, I upgraded the Z's fogs to 12400 lumen per pair SNGL LED fogs, 12400 lumen per pair SNGL LED high beams, and converted the HIDs to 12400 SNGL LED low beams. I tested the bulbs outside the car and they were all friggin bright enough to give you eye welder burns if you did not look away.

So fogs are great, but low beams are still terrible. Similarly, the high beams just are not like I remembered. Last night, I see that new C6 headlamp assemblies are $900 each and the used ones, which may also have questionable reflectors are 50% of that. I stumbled onto a site called Morimoto and see that they make a C7 style LED light complete enclosure but they are $1280!! But that is a lot cheaper than new C6 enclosures. They look top notch, but I have bought aftermarket headlamp enclosures before and been disappointed that the plastic frosts/glazes pretty quickly.

Not sure what to do, but since I can't clear a dead squirrel in my C6Z with carbon fiber splitter, something has to be done so I can see.

It is a pain in the but to remove the bumper cover and inner fenderwell panel, so I would not be so patient as you to keep taking things apart.

What did you end up doing? I just want the brightness back, this dull yellow is the worst. Used to shine like diamonds.

Interesting. I bought a pair of used headlights to swap the lenses on and put them in the car and one of them is dim. I just bought some bulbs to replace them but I wonder if they had this problem too. Crap and the lenses were just open!
