Default Injectors and lean codes do they mix?

If I were to get a lean code for bank 1 and clear that code and then have same code for bank 1&2, clear that code and get a single bank 1 code lean again,
Here is it question.... Could a single or multiple injectors be fouled up (dirty) or fuel not being atomized or sprayed incorrectly.
Thanks
David

Po171/po174 codes. 93 tier 1 gas always used

Possible things to check are:

Visually/physically inspect the following items: (check these first)

Vacuum hoses for splits, kinks, and proper connections.
Crankcase ventilation valve and/or system for leaks.
Contaminated fuel.
PCM and sensor grounds are clean, tight and in the proper locations.
Air induction system after MAF sensor for vacuum leaks.
Engine mechanical failure.

Had the same issue a year ago....ended up being an exhaust leak at the header collector gasket causing outside air be monitored by 02 sensor. Causing a lean bank 1 code.

It'd be nice to know if there are any mods on the car.

I concur, check the tightness and the gaskets.

Well, it's back. Even after a GM injector cleaner service. My evasive code P0174 is back. I will double check bolts around scavenger section to make sure tight. Any other ideas?

Gasket is great first bet.
IMHO injector cleaner is just about worthless. May be worth pulling injectors and having them cleaned and flow mapped.
Just did mine with 20K and they picked up between 1 and 4% flow, also a good time to put the fat ones in the back.

The intake was replaced >18 months ago with ported102 by Spin. Problems are recent.
How is the safest way to clean the MAF and what brand do you use?

go to any auto parts store and ask for MASS CLEANER make sure that it says that on the label. check all the bolts on the manifold. you may still have to SMOKE the intake and check for leaks. a seal on the manifold may have misshapen.

Well, I went and bought MAF and Throttle Body cleaners. Dissassembled from TB to VR. It was dirty on the butterfly, like coated dirty. I wiped inside the TB best I could. Cleaned MAF and reassembled. Test drive......unbelievable, really a hugh improvement...I'm happy
