I have an 11 GS that is all stock and would like to keep it that way till the bumper to bumper runs out. i was checking the air filter the other day, you know the stock blue one and it was all filthy i would like to replace it with a K&N filter. i have searched all over the forum and K&N for the part number but to no avail, can someone out there help me out with the part number please.
For your engines sake don't replace the stock filter with a K&N. The stock filter is superior to any aftermarket filter.
Unless you drive in severe conditions the filter should be good for around 50,000 miles. Less if mostly low speed city and more if highway. On the Donaldson Powercore filter a visual is deceiving, because of how the filter is constructed, you only can see the very first portion. Also, if filtration is a concern vs. maximum airflow, dirtier filters filter more dirt than clean ones.
