C6 suspension noises, continued
Now home and ready to trouble shoot for connector looseness.
Before returning, I marked the axle nut in order to check for looseness. No movement seen. Spring pad/bolts are intact.
The noises were mostly gone after leaving Albuquerque's rough surface streets, but still noticeable with abrupt highway road surface irregularities (rarely happened).
Questions for this forum: 1) can insufficient upper shock mount nut torque (front and rear) cause shock dimensional changes that cause noises? 2) I used a 'crow's foot 'attachment to tighten the front shock's upper nut, trying to tighten the nut to expose the same length of bolt as had been exposed on the original shocks and making torque values difficult to calculate AND i did not tighten the upper rear mounting nut on the new OEM shocks before installing the mounting plate>>> I'd could use a measurement of the length of bolt protruding above the front, upper right shock's fastening nut AND comments as to whether i should have torqued the rear upper shock nut before installing the upper shock mounting plate.
The next step will be to check the torque on the rear lower shock nut, then visit a trustworthy alignment shop to have sway bar link torques checked.
Comments appreciated?

The right rear lower shock mount was not near its torque setting (107 # ft), and three of the sway bar links were noisy when the suspension was compressed and correctly tightened.
Since most of the noise came from the right rear wheel, there is reason to expect that the problem will be completely resolved when the new links are installed.
