I am looking at an 07 C-6, six speed manual with 21,500 miles and an 09 C-6, paddle shifters with just under 12,000 miles. This will be my first Vette and may or may not be a daily driver. The 07 is 34k and the 09 is 36k. Which is the best bang for the buck??

Well, the standard, basic advice is to buy the newest model you can afford.

That said, the '08-'09 received many upgrades and improvements over the '05-'07, including the LS3 engine and improved transmissions and steering.

So, were it me, I'd go for the '09, if I had the money.

Default 07 Stick vs 09 Paddle

Thanks for that info. I normally agree. It appears that most like a stick on a sports car. I drove a stick for 18 years at UPS so that is not a issue. Let me be more specific. The 07 C-6 manual has a VR intake and Corsa exhaust along with the 3LT pkg. With the mods the 07 should be close to 430 HP. The 09 is auto with paddle shift and 1LT. Is the LS3 a better engine or simply 30 HP stronger? Also I know the steering is better in the 09. I am all for technology but I want to have fun with this car. I'm sure there really is no bad choice here, except not to get a Vette!
Thoughts??

Personally I would prefer the manual vs automatic. Top that with 1LT vs 3LT, I would strongly lean towards the 07. Heated power memory seats, Heads up display and other options that come with the 3LT will more than make up the 30 HP difference. Also, with the money you save, throw on a pair of headers + tune and you will have more power than a stock LS3. But which ever one you do choose, I am sure you will have fun!

As mentioned above, the '08 and newer models received many upgrades. The transmission received programming updates in 2008, making it shift nicer and the paddles a little nicer to use. The LS3 engine was introduced in '08. '09 and newer received exhaust changes (I think). Many changes throughout the years. If it were me in the market, I would negotiate the heck out of the 2009 model and get it. Then again, I like the auto. Manuals are nice, but I see many autos being purchased now. The 3LT to 1LT packages are a consideration, but don't let the options alone sway you. Look at each Vette based on its value to you and what you will be paying.

As for the LS2 / LS3 debate, both are great engines. It all comes down to how they cared for. With that low of miles, neither should present issues unless they were absolutely abused and not cared for at all. Either way, both would be fun to own. ENJOY.
