I have a gm ls3 crate engine, i would like to get more power out of it, willing to change heads and camshaft, is it possible to use my existing valves with new heads and camshaft??

looking for around 600 bhp ish, lead to believe is possible

so what heads and cam would give best result???

cheers

The right cam and a set of headers will get you 500 rwhp (around 560ish bhp) if you don't wanna pony up the money for a blower. Other inexpensive things would be ported TB, ported intake manifold and CAI.

But the guys are right, the blower will certainly get you there is you can afford it.

CorvetteDave, what do you plan to do with your Corvette and the new crate LS3, e.g., road course (HPDE)? I know it's tempting to go forced induction, but if you plan to do a lot of road course activities (high RPM, high temperatures); I recommend staying naturally aspirated and go the heads/cam/intake/headers route.

600 engine hp in an LS3 is going to take every trick in the book thrown at it n/a. Big cam, ported or aftermarket heads, good intake/exhaust. A well thought out combo that will essentially suck at daily driving, fuel eco, manners, etc. You can slap a blower on there for about the same money and have the power you're after and perfect manners, good mpg, for about the same money. Then, if 600 isn't enough, you're easily upgradeable.

Would this type of setup leave the car for good daily driving as well? If so what type of cam? I think I'd Pfadt the headers.

I have the lg6x3 cam, lg superpro longtube headers, stock heads milled, and vararam CAI. The car dyno at 480 rwhp with 4.10 gears. This should be close to 500 with 3.42 gears. I have read and you can check. The trick flow 255 heads should get you closer to the 600 bhp. You can then get a ported TB, port out the stock LS3 intake (not much hp gain with fast102 on ls3), and port match it all together. This is just my 2 cents. I would check with several of the performance shop vendors on the forum. This is there area of experience.

What are you going to do with the car, any type of racing, or just cruising on weekends? Do you want a stealthy cam or something that sounds off? How important is driveability? Lots of things to consider before jumping in.
