Agree above. Do least a 3400 stall. But a 3800 would be better. Either way should run 10s pretty easy.
Yes you and the post above yours are 100% on the money.. but you know how one thing leads to another .. If I go with a 3600 + converter, I'm going to have to "UPGRADE" my rear end I have a stock 05 (3.15) and I'm thinking the 2800 that I now have will be a little easier on the rear end even if I have to leave a little ET on the table..
What I'm saying I'd rather run 11.2 and keep it in one piece than 10.8 and blow the rear...Not sure if I'm making any sense...but I have to keep an eye on the pocket book also..
I need a roll bar (about $1500) fire jacket, 5 pt seat belt...etc... etc.. so if by keeping the 2800 converter will save me from some grief in the future I'd be satisfied with a low 11 sec car...
I would trust the guys doing the work One thing to keep in mind is the extra torque down low from the 4" stroke is going to help the car 60' better...
Very true...I think it will make my 2800 converter act more like a 3000 - 3200 ... we'll with the old motor it 60' in 1.62 .. we'll see how it runs in March unless I can get to a track rental before then..
I think I'd like to put 300 or so miles on it before it see's the track...
