Default Blower Cam Question Need suggestions also the E 85 octane conversion

I'm Looking for a good Blower Cam 3 categories..

Stock ZR1 dirt cheap
GT-9 Lingenfelter
Something Lumpier (need suggestions please)

I'm kinda leaning towards the GT9, because of idle and not as loud as something to lumpy..

If the motor is stock with a 2.9 Supercharger, injectors headers and tune of course.. And that's all I plan on doing on this motor.. What would the HP difference between the 3 cams will I see on the LS3 motor?

Also planning the E85 conversion I just moved to a location where I can find it very easy.. What would be the power gain on this?

My BASELINE is 500hp at the wheels on cold motor at about 65 degrees

Jack

You need to fill in a few more blanks. Power goals, M6 or A6, drivability requirements, fuel eco concerns, etc. The hp difference is going to depend on the cam chosen and whether you pulley down to get the lost boost back.

I'm assuming 2.9L Whipple. Haven't seen too many of these on LS3 Vettes. A few LS7's. Lots of Camaros though.

You probably have ZL1 power now....and you're OK as long as you don't have to turn and/or brake with one

As far as cams go, I'd have a pro spec you one. The LS9 cam isn't enough of a change to warrant all the trouble it takes to do a cam swap. The high lift of the GT9 cam would scare me away from that one. Comp Cams doesn't even recommend that lobe series for a street car. Here's what Comp Cams says about the LSK lobe series which the GT9 cam uses: "They are VERY hard on parts and not generally recommended in street applications." You can get a custom grind that will make just as much power, or more, and still be kinder to your valve train.
