Default Rewire Paddle Shifters for Nitrous?

reposting this here in the tech section. I had posted it in general didn't get any feedback and figure this is a more appropriate area for this question.
I am wondering if any one has done this or has any info on if this can be done.
I have an 05 Auto, looking to upgrade to a newer steering wheel. I would love toy use a wheel with the paddle shifters but not for shifting, I would want to rewire them to activate my Nitrous system. I am going to be running a 2-stage kit, one dry low shot for off the line, then a direct port much larger shot. So with the 2 paddles would work perfect for my set up. Just not sure if the paddles are like the heated seats switch and only work thru the module as they are a momentary switch and wouldn't allow me to hold for a 12 second shot of nitrous.

there are pinouts on the site, look for wheel conversions. You can use a diagram to see the polarity and color of the wires. I would cut the appropriate wire a few inches under the harness and seal off the end going back into the stock harness. You can then run a wire and attach it the the end going into the harness. This will get you a signal from the switch.

I did something similar when I wired the audio controls for my 05.

You would be better off wiring the N20 to a Throttle position and RPM switch where BOTH criteria need to be met or the system does not activate.

This will insure two things. One that the throttle is WOT for the system to activate & two a set RPM has been met at the same time for the system to activate.

This will protect your engine from seeing N20 at too low of an RPM which can cause sever engine damage... It will also make the system predictable and consistent.

Hooking the system up to a just a singe button is a quick way to turn your engine into a bucket of parts.

NOW if you added the Paddle shifters as a 3rd no/go switch with the Throttle position & RPM switches then it would work just fine and be safe for the engine...

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

Thanks for the input but in regards to WOT. Not really a concern as I'm looking to use the paddles to activate my Direct port set up only with the wet direct port kit i will not need to rely on WOT position to activate. my 1st stage will be linked to a WOT for the wet small shot but the larger direct port will be only activated on commode during track runs. Ive got lots of experience with nitrous on the track so not to worried about needing the safety of WOT switch on both kits.
