Default COW booster installed, quick review.

Hi folks, I just had Chuck from Corvettes of Westchester install his booster into my 11 grand sport. My first reaction was to giggle like a school girl while pulling off of my street, the damn car almost got away from me because I wasn't prepared. Low to mid range throttle response is so much better the car feels eager whereas before it felt soft and I had to work to get it to move. This is without a doubt the best bang for the buck mod that I can think of! Chuck also helped clear up some other issues my car was having remotely, this was around 7pm west coast time... he's on the east coast... I am very pleased with the results and if you get a chance to send him your computer I would highly recommend it!

Ah, glad you asked, that was a pretty big oversight on my part... The "COW booster" is a tweak to the throttle mapping in the ECM to make it more responsive (Chuck, jump in and correct me if I'm wrong). From the factory the throttle is set to be very soft down low so that if you give it 20% the car is only actually applying 10% (making those numbers up). He remaps it so that it is closer to a 1:1 ratio. It may not sound like a big deal but the seat of the pants feel is obvious immediately. I lost traction turning off of my street because it reacted so much faster than I was used to. The car is much more fun to drive now, it responds instantly instead of having that soft squishy response I'm used to.

Default It is a GREAT bang for the buck mod

I still giggle like a little girl when I drive my Cow Boosted Vette. It's amazing what a difference it makes.

This throttle remapping is now common on many cars, the c7, and even my Prius has it. It really makes a difference.

I did a thread myself with more analysis/thoughts.

Default Thank you my friends!

Thank you my friends! Believe it or not, I still giggle like a little girl when I get behind

the wheel of any of the vehicles I've CoW BOOSTED!

You would think that I would get used to it by now, but it's crazy how that lightning fast throttle

just never seems to get old!

You guys are GREAT! Thank you!

if you install the cow booster, does it lock the PCM from other future tuning from another company. I was thinking of the COW booster but would also like to have dyno tune done later on by someone local.

Nope, mine was tuned locally and no issues... Except the tune is a bit off so I'll probably have Chuck re-tune it at some point. Try it, you won't regret it!

I think I will try it once I hear those words from chuck that this doesn't lock the pcm from future tuning.

^^^ Joel good to see you joined the COW club!

It makes quite a difference doesn't it!...Kind of hard to describe, people think you could just press the gas harder for the same effect but it doesn't work that way...the factory throttle map is so flat until it ramps up so steeply at the end of the travel. The COW Booster is more linear and makes the car feel super snappy.

Chuck did my 2002 C5, it was a very noticeable differences, plus I saw an 2 MPG increase in city and highway. I will wait until my warranty is up on the 2013 C6 GS before having it tune.

I was wondering about the mpg increase. The first drive out I managed 16mpg which is three above what I normally get in town... and I was playing the whole time. I thought it was the placebo effect .

Thanks Joe!

Chuck said that since I have the larger 102 NW TB and 102 fast intake, the effect is emphasized! I did my first road course with the booster, and while there were other factors to be considered that day, the booster was one of them. I ran my best time ever on that track, posted the vid the other day...

I track all my mileage and the booster had no effect on mpg. It really shouldn't given what it does. Plus, the c5 didn't have the cow booster, it's a c6 item. I would suggest your mileage gain came from the tune, which is possible.

Joel I'm sorry I missed sema this year, I often go. Maybe next year, would be great to meet you in person after all these years.

Now I gotta go find your video...I love watching them.
