C6 owners/techs - Auto Trans question
I recently had my A4 transmission serviced (Fluid, filter & gasket).
What type of magnet is suppose to be in the pan?
Square or round?
When the car was made, did Chevrolet change the shape or size of the magnet?
My model year is 2005.

My pan is stamped with a square shape, however, when it was dropped, it had a round magnet.
Is your pan stamped for a round magnet? (round shape)
I replaced my magnet with a square one though.

Mine has a tri-star shape with a round indent at the center. The magnet is shaped like a flat donut. The tri-star elevates the magnet slightly and allows fluid and any ferrous particles to be attracted to the underside in addition to the top.
