Default start button normal?

So this is my 2nd C6, my last car was a 2005 and when I bumped the start button it cranked instantly and same with turning it off....I now have a 2007 and have to hold button down for 3 second before it will start to crank and hold for 3 second to shut off. Is this normal or do I need to replace/clean the button?

I have clean the door openers and now they work GREAT...does this work the same way?

My '05 is much faster to start and definitely much faster to turn off. Touch on and touch off. My '09 takes a slower finger to both start and stop.

Some have told stories where their knee hit the bottom part of the rocker switch, and boom, they were w/o power at freeway speeds. I think that may be why they changed it.

I have a 34" inseam, but I have never hit my knee on the dash during driving, EVER.

I doubt they made a change to the starter switch from 05 to 07

My '08 is not "instant" but I don't have to hold it for seconds at a time. Only guessing but I'd say a half second maybe.

I know in my 05, I always get in, take it out of reverse while holding the clutch down and just tap the starter. I hear a bunch of clicks for like 2-3 seconds and then fires right up but I never hold the button, just a quick push.

Just pushing and releasing starts my '13, just like my '06. But you have to hold it for about a second to turn it off. The '06 went off right away. They mention the new procedure in the manual. Holding it longer to start won't hurt anything, however.
