after worked stock heads, someone mentioned Trick flow, they have a great cam and heads package. anyone have that? Also someone mentioned more expensive after that. So what heads are those heads and how good are they?
The trick flow as cast were mentioned first. They are a very good out of the box head. The cnc versions are a bit more, but a stellar performer for the price.
They have an ok package, but there are newer designs out there even off the shelf that are better.
Lingenfelter GT 11 cam , GMPP LS3 heads with substituting correct springs for the cam, Callaway Honker, and ZO6/ZR-1 exhaust system...that should do it
I made over 500 rwhp 463 torque with tfs 255cc genx heads , fast 102 int , mw 102 tbody from total engine air flow , eps cam from geoff , pfadt headers . I drove it to the beach 3 1/2 hours each way and its my dd. My cam doesnt buck or kick , but it pulls hard . Ran 6.59 in 1/8th first outting .
Ls7 manifolds and decent cam with tune can put you in ls7 territory. I have a mild cam, ls7 manifolds, halltech intake and tune, just under 450 rwhp. My Dyno sheet compared to stock c6 z06 shows very similar power curve, but a little better.
I'm trying to figure out where ii went wrong with my 08, A6 coupe to be 40rwhp less than you guys. I'm running 1.75 super pros, no cats, Halltech killer bee w/hive and Borla stingers. I haven't been retuned since I added the stingers, but I highly doubt the increase will that significant. I had a non npp set up prior to the stingers.....fill me in gents.....what am I missing?

An A6 with the same mods as an M6 will dyno 30+ hp less.
It's fairly easy to keep up with a stock Z06 if you're starting with an LS3. If the Z guy adds cam and bolt ons, you're pretty much toast though. Mid 500's at the wheels is easy for a Z with just a mild cam and bolt ons. That ain't happnin' with even the best set of heads and a gnarly cam in an LS3. At that point some type of forced induction will be necessary if you really want to keep up with him. 427 cubic inches will killer heads in a lite Z is a tough combo to compete with.
1) search for a used supercharger kit
2) acquire headers + tune and a clutch
3) destroy stock/bolt-on Z06s
4) pray your engine won't blow
5) ???
6) profit
Buy a custom cam kit.
Get supporting mods
Get a quality tune
Spend less money than above post
Still have better than Z power
Buy widebody kit
Get GS/Z spec wheels
Buy better brakes
If you wanted Z06 performance, the best way to do it for less money than a Z is to get the GS and work from there. They are really not that much more than a base model now and they can even be had with the dry sump option of course, which really isnt that big a deal IMO.

I had two Z cars and I do miss that 3 rd gear charge on a long straight stretch. So that's what I am after. But with only 3K miles on it I know it will get better.
I think that's the guy who ran a 9.97 @ 137 in a bolt-on C6 Z. Yup, they all run like that. Doubtful even a supercharged + bolt-ons LS3 car can destroy a stock Z06. That stock Z06 power to weight ratio is much too much to overcome.

if you don't think a 700-750whp ls3 that only weights 175lbs more cant beat a STOCK z06 with 440whp you must be smoking some really good stuff or trolling
