to fast or not to fast on LS2
I currently am on the fence to buying a fast 102 for my 05 LS2,
my current mods are the following:
full LS7 exhaust
LS7 stock air intake (tuned with LS7 maf tables)
beehive(to lower IAT) really does work my tuner really could tell a difference.
160 thermostat
all this is done as I live in California, and want the look of being stock.
I know the fast is C.A.R.B legal here. so is it really worth it on my setup?
and if so should I port the intake as well?
Thanks in advance

Fast for sure. I'm not sure if I would spend the money on having it ported. A real good mod for the LS2 is to find some stock LS3 heads and intake. Probably cheaper than the Fast and almost the same RWHP for your car. That's at least what I've heard.

The fast will definitely make a difference. I have a 05 3.15 geared A4.
I went with the fast 90 to compliment my complete Z06 exhaust, Callaway honker & tune. Mine is not ported and seems to work well.

I would think the fast would be the best bang for the buck outta the two figuring in the time and/or cost for installing the heads and buying and installing any supporting parts. I gather the ls2 is down ~36hp from the ls3 and it's directly related to the heads and intake. so...installing the ls3 heads and intake on the ls2 should level the playing field between these two engines whereas installing the fast should get it almost as close for less time/$$.

I think that with all the input that a lot of people have done the
fast 102.
is it worth porting with my setup, I have no plans, at this time of getting into the motor, just a under drive pulley later on.

My LS2 just got a FAST 102 last month.. however I haven't had it on a dyno BEFORE I went to a stroker (403"ci) but with a ported stock manifold it made 380 HP on the dyno.. AFTER the stroker motor, with the FAST 102, Kooks Long Tube Headers etc.. etc. it made 477 HP on the same dyno..(The engine build got me app 100 hp)
I have seen STOCK LS2 cars pick up over 25 HP with just a FAST 102 and a Tune..
I think the FAST 102 is well worth the $$ and a lot less work to install than LS3 heads & intake...
My car (when it was stock (with a ported intake & 2800 converter, & tune ran 11.59 @ 118 mph in GREAT COOL AIR..
I hope to be able to run it this Fri. if the weather (here in NY) cooperates, & we get enough people to want to go to the "Test & Tune" at Atco...

I had just bolt/ons and added the fast 90 ported, it was very impressive gained across the whole rpm band low mid high, it pulls until you let off the pedal

I had my Fast ported but if I had to do it again, I think I would leave it alone (unless I got a great deal on the porting). Make sure that who ever ports your intake is knowledgable. It is not a job for an amateur IMHO.

Heck yes, the FAST intakes are worth almost as much as a set of headers on the LS2 cars. I think I picked up in some area's 15-18 hp and almost 25 ft-lbs of torque. Now peak numbers it was not that high but under the curve, HUGE change given what little was done to it. I had the 90 on my car and was still using the stock TB as well.
This was on my '06 early on
Before was just a cold air and our 1 3/4 Pro's....after was the addition of the FAST 90mm.

The 102 works just fine with the stock throttle body and the same 20-25rwhp gains over a stock ls2 intake as others mentioned, hope that helps.

some of these FAST Gains are hard to believe but Anthony's Dyno chart is hard to argue with.. Hmm... might have to add the Fast to my Cam upgrade list..

I'm going to Englishtown this Sunday, they are having Time Trials, & Import vs American Muscle...
Seeing as I have NO experience with the new motor on a track, & I don't know how well I'll hook up on a "green" track, I'm just going to go to Test & Tune.. Time shots only.. and try to get a base line on the new 403" motor.....
