It has been very cold and icy and snowy in NJ this year so car has not been driven in months. I went to start it and got a no fobs detected message. Took dealer both fobs and he said they are good. Tried again and it would not start and engine made loud successive clicking noises (about a dozen), then lights came on bright and could not turn off until battery was dead. I have since tried to jump start it a few times and continue to get clicking noise with the yellow engine light on. What is happening? Original battery. I have been told that battery on these Corvettes very temperamental. Need help!

Reason: mispelling
Battery is likely dead. The clicking you're hearing is the electrical relays. Try putting the FOB in the small compartment in the passenger side glove compartment and see if it starts.
If nothing happens.. More strength towards the battery being dead. But for further assistance, see the following thread:

If it were mine I'd first pull the cables off the battery and make sure everything was clean with no corrosion anywhere. Then with the battery still disconnected I'd put a charger on it for several hours and replace the cables tight and see if that brings it back enough to get it started. If you don't have a charger I'd do the cleaning and tightening thing first then hook it up to the other car and let that car idle for a while to try to give it a bit of charge before trying to start it. Even if you get it started you still need to buy a new battery.
The C6 can be difficult to jump start because the battery cable connectors are not made of lead and so it is difficult to get a good connection with the jumper cables. Jumping is all about getting lots of current through the cables, the clamps are the weak point. I would charge the battery fully, then if it still will not start, take the battery out and take it in for load testing at the place where you would get a new one. After this long, it is likely that the battery is gone, but it must be fully charged in order to be load tested.

great advice......love my 2007 lemans metallic blue Z51 with dual tops!!!!!!!!
I finally got my 07' Vette started today. I had to have jumper cables on for 20 minutes to get enough juice to crank; also had to put FOB in slot in glove compartment. Did about 1.5 hours of highway driving in really good weather.....finally!!!! Onstar diagnostics confirmed all is good with engine.
Will do this next week and bring to dealer for new battery.
Thanks again
Yeah, battery died on mine and new (extra heavy wire) jumpers would not help. Reason was the clamps were basically flat with a few teeth and grabbed the connectors poorly. I went home and got my really good cables (with rounded clamps) and it started right away. hen filed the clamps on the new cables round and now they work.
