Default CAGS fuse

New C6 - 2009 owner here. I've read numerous posts on this issue and I'm more confused than ever on which specific fuse to buy and whether I have to blow the fuse for it to work for this mod. So if I go to my local auto parts which fuse do I need to buy and do I need to blow the fuse?

Buy a Smart fuse - with the correct amperage rating. Blow the fuse by shorting it across the battery (battery charger won't work not enough current). Install the fuse - take care since you are using the diode to make the connection across the fuse terminals it needs to be oriented correctly. Start the car - the red diode should be lit - if it is not - flip the fuse around.
