Default Sprint Booster Review

'12 GS 6spd dry-sump, w headers/tune, & I've wanted a Sprint Booster since I first read @ them. It works exactly as advertised & eliminates the mushy delay between your initial gas pedal pressure & throttle response. Granted at $300 it's overpriced & had I not found a CF deal on a new/used unit I may not have bought it...but I'm glad I did.

Throttle delay makes sense for snow or ice driving, & the SB is easily switched off, or to green, but for dry/warm weather red/race mode is it. It makes the throttle do exactly what your foot inputs..no delay, no spongy gas peddle, just immediate response that's fully controllable.

Starts from dead stop are easier in red mode too ..instead of the delay when engaging clutch & modulating throttle, it's responsive now. I use only clutch when starting off, adding throttle once rolling w clutch 99% engaged to limit slippage/wear & the SB lets you dial in throttle precisely.

If you're on the fence due to price I get it, but if you're hesitating bc you don't think it works, then you're missing out & I'm bum'd I waited 2 yrs to buy one.

Install takes @ 20 mins, & no gas pedal removal needed if you can contort yourself upside down into the footwell. Search for GTJim's full pictorial install & it's simple to do. Peace out.

The throttle to TB input/response can be remapped for a lot less money that the booster costs.

As for the delay/sedate throttle response for the first initial push of the throttle that the stock car has, it's for cruising speeds to smooth out TB response to fluctuations in the pedal to get better gas mileage.

Simply put, the throttle can be adjusted via a tune to clean up any normal hesitation, without having to remove the sedate part of the initial throttle pedal by over voltage outputting the throttle pedal to pretty much remove/very narrow that initial pedal distance response (instead just barely touching the throttle pedal and the car thinking that you have it pressed down 1/4 of the way or better instead).

So on that note, give me a crisp throttle any day of the week that I can use, instead of a throttle position sensor that has been remapped to just think that the pedal has been pushed farther that it actual has been instead (read half step of just turning the throttle pedal into a on/off switch instead).

True - but many of us don't want to do a potentially warranty voiding tune!!

When I got my 2009 ZR1 several years ago I really didn't like the very sluggish throttle response, but I didn't want to possibly void the warranty with a tune, so I got a Sprint Booster - and it WORKS GREAT!!!

If you want to go the tune route, the throttle remapping that Chuck COW does has gotten outstanding reviews here on the forum.

Thank you Bob!

CoW BOOSTER! always gets great reviews.... Corvettes, CAMAROs, TRUCKS, CADDYS, and the rest.... LOTS of fun.

I did want to mention, there is a problem with this other fella's post.

The throttle to TB input/response can be remapped with ELI live for a lot less money that the booster costs.
You can NOT use EfiLive or HPT to make for better throttle response for 2005 and up Corvettes.

The CoW BOOSTER! is the only way to go.
