Default Corsa vs. NPP

What kind of gains if any would I expect from a corsa catback vs. NPP on my 08 C6?

Idk about hp gains but I love the sound of the corsa extreme 4inch tip I have on. No drone on the highway and screams when you get on it.

I could care less about sound, I'm all about increasing performance.

I think they would be very close in gains. I would think around 5 RWHP. Mine came with a kick butt Corsa, but I couldn't bring myself that much to spend on an axle back. I'd probably end up buying an SLP loudmouth because of the cheap price if I had to do it.

Corsa apparently claims a gain of approximately "13RWHP to the new C6 LS3".

That information is based on hearsay quote someone posted after discussing a possible upgrade to Corsa over their NPP on the phone.

I couldn't tell you for sure, and I don't think many others could either; most people choose to upgrade their intake as well as their exhaust whenever they do the relatively minor upgrades like that (or any number of other mods). I don't see too many people just changing their stock exhaust alone, and certainly not doing a dyno pull before and after to check the gains.

You're likely to gain SOMETHING over the NPP though just for the simple fact that it's an engineered system for the car. Nothing in the way (butterfly valves, even with mild-to-wild kits or fuse pulls, you still have something in the way), improved exhaust flow and throughput, and enhanced exhaust tone.

If you want more power from exhaust you should look into headers first, they will give you power where a catback is mostly sound.

Mufflers might, might get you 10hp. Headers will get you 25hp.

Headers are also illegal for any smog controlled vehicle in any state.

You might still pass a test, but that doesn't make them legal for use on your vehicle if it's intended to be used on the street.

Headers are sitting on the floor in the garage waiting for sine good weather for me to install them.

I've always been under the belief that the power gains from any catback on these cars is negligible. Assuming there is a gain (GM claims 6hp for the NPP) the difference from one system to another is probably barely measurable and well within dyno variations.

If your car is already equipped with NPP and you want to swap in Corsas for more power, I feel it's a waste of money. If you have the base exhaust and you're looking for more power, especially hp to dollar, look elsewhere. JMO

0 performance gain from open npp to Corsa.

I have had both...no difference.

Online here, people have used the NPP mufflers up to 700 or 800 RWHP with the mufflers NOT holding back any power.
