I recently purchase my vette used at a dealership. I've owed it for two weeks now. This morning for the 3rd time it will turn over but never fire up. I have bought a new red top optima battery and installed it, and still will not start. Any help is appreciated.
Check out the contacts and the condition of the relay that you pulled...make sure the contacts are not burned from bad connection in the fuse block. If no damage and it's just a relay gone bad, then replace and all is good. But if it is burned because of bad connection, that connection needs to be cleaned up or it will just happen again.
I'm plan on picking up a new relay in the morning, I just did this to try it. How do I get to the terminal to inspect it? Or should I just bring to a shop?
Relays can simply go bad but if there is a connection issue you should have burn (over heating) marks on the relay posts or even marks on the relay top.
Well when i swapped the a/c and fuel pump relays it started right up and my a/c is still working. This just doesn't make since. I thought relays were either good or bad , not sometimes work and sometimes not. The relay shows no signs of burning or melting, no dark color.
That sounds like a connection issue in the fuse block. If that's the case you could probably switch the relays back and both still work. Kind of like a loose wire....moving it back and forth contact is made or broke.

Glad you figured out the problem Will. If you drive it into work this week we can look at the contacts to see if they need cleaning or not..
